10/10/2006 Workout instructorsHaving went through various kinds of workout classes, i have my own expectation of how the class and even the instructor should be like.
A good instructor should tune her workout according to the class standard and able to identify the weaknesses / mistakes of the class. If there are quite a number of weaker students or newcomers, there may be a need to vary the intensity of the workout. Or the instructor can consider having 2-3 levels and allow everyone to choose (instead of insisting her own level).
My fav instructor does that, but I think she is not teaching there anymore, ah¬ there goes another good instructor. Why do the good instructors always change classes every few months / weeks? or perhaps they decided not to teach there anymore? :p
Anyway i went to attend a class by another instructor, i have decided not to join her class again. She made us do push ups on the ground (without mat) and i got bruises on my knees! i admit that i m not good at push ups, perhaps the way i do it is wrong or that i get bruises easily. I could have used a mat but.... no one else is using it and instructor is changing between aerobics and push ups so.. erm.. a bit embarrassed to take the mat and a bit troublesome to keep shifting it...
Another covering instructor is worse, the first thing after she greeted the class, she threw a sour lemon (a new term i learnt from a colleague ha) at those students who attended this class for > 3 months (i admit i am one of them but even if i am not, i still dun like her :p). she lamented that these students should be taking the 3 pound hand weights instead of 2 - otherwise the classes are not effective at all and they should stop attending. Who says the heavier the hand weights, the better the workout would be? or the more effective the toning would be? i think everyone has a choice to decide how she wants her workout to be. not everyone just want to get toner - cant i just maintain? :p
DreamsWhat do you know about dreams? Do you believe in them?
I remember when i was still schooling, there used to be myths about the interpretation of a particular dream - you failed your test / exam.
Some people interpreted that dream as an indication that you will really fail your exam. Some claimed that dreams are the opposite of real life, and you will pass your exam with flying colours!
I remember i had that dream for my 'A' levels Physics. To kill the curiosity, i went to search the web and realised that if you had such a dream, it most prob meant that you are not well prepared for the test and hence you are worried about it.
Oh well... i think the interpretation i found from web made more sense :p luckily i managed to pass my exam after some last minute studying.
For some years, I stopped remembering dreams - heard that it should be a sign of good sleep.. well is it another myth? or is there a scientific reason behind it?
