Is buying gifts a joy or chore for you?

Buying gifts can be such a joy and chore for some.. don't you agree?

If it is someone whose interests and likes are something you grasp so well, you may be surrounded by too many gift options. And when the person opens the gift with delight, you feel glad that you made the right choice.

If the gift is for someone you barely know and yet you like to buy something as appreciation, or if the gift is meant for a gift exchange activity and you won't know whom it will land up with, you may like to get something which suits both gender. That would imply something practical?

Personally i like practical gift ideas, whether it is receiving or giving.. :p this is because even if the person does not like the design / color / look of the item, the item has at least a practical usage - it won't be dumped or tucked somewhere in a corner of the cupboard. Though it does not sound good to know that your gift may be / is being passed on to another person, well, at least, it is being used and not wasted.

3 years ago, i remember that as too many people were buying similar items, there began a trend to ban certain gifts. I wonder if it is a lack of time / imagination / efforts on thinking of what to buy, or is it plain coincidence. Items like photo frames, towels, chocolates and mugs have become commonly seen in all gift exchanges. I don't deny that i have bought these items before.. but i really tried to keep that as my last resort hahaha :p

I also had a gift exchange this year, i nearly bought a toiletries bag which i thought would be a useful item. it turned out that several friends also bought similar items and 1 bought exactly the same bag which i nearly bought haha will bags be banned in the next xmas? ;)

Anyway, i heard a friend commented before, no matter what the gift is, it always feel good and happy to receive one! :)

    Happy holidays :)

i heard a myth 1 year ago, it is not good to leave unfinished work in office at year end

it kind of 'cursed' your future working life in such a way that your work can never be finished in the coming year(s)...

i am not sure on how true this is.. cos in my current job, i have been leaving unfinished work for past 2 new years and yes, i rarely have more than 1 hour of idle time before another urgent / critical issue is brought to my attention again... or before another task is passed to me again.. etc....

so.... it seems like my next year will be another year of unfinishing work .... :p

the 'curse' seems to be endless.. unstoppable.. haha nevertheless... here is wishing everyone a merry xmas and a happy new year.. enjoy the holidays!!

    Rabbit (Lucky Plaza)

i think this place is specialized for offering sharks fin in cheap set meals.

though i m not sure if the food is genuine, the taste is not bad and the price is affordable. you can get a mini fo tiao qiang with rice, tea and a bowl of dessert under $10.

the place is air conditioned but small (and not so ventilated), you may need to go early so as to shorten your waiting time and before your desired set meal runs out of stock for the day...
