Jack's Place used to be one of my favourite restuarants.

 

With an average price of $10 (excluding GST), there are several main courses to choose from for the set lunches. I was amazed at the low prices of the set lunches.

 

However i am pretty disappointed with the set lunches when i lunched at the AMK branch.

 

The shitake mushroom soup, labelled with the so-called "hot favourites" on the menu, proved to be milder than the Campbell mushroom soup.

 

The side salad that comes with the fried dory set somehow does not taste fresh. Or was my hunger affecting my taste bugs?

 

The presentation of the set lunches is nowhere better than those served in the food court.

 

The dessert being served is a scoop of strawberry ice cream (this is something i like, cos i prefer strawberry over vanilla, which is the typical choice). However i am puzzled over why the ice cream is being served with cocktail fruits.

 

What's more, the waitress got the orders wrong 2 times, once on the soup order and once on a main course.

 

And the "best" part is, at the end of our dessert, we found a small cockroach on our table (which popped up all of a sudden)... what a special guest appearance at the closing!
