8/19/2006 New York New York (City Link)Actually a friend went with her friends before and tried the pasta. Their comments were - not nice.
Anyway i went to try it out today - No pasta this time
Comments:
1. potato wedges with spicy sauce (chef's recommendation)
i thought: sounds good! despite my recovering running nose and a bad cough, i thought of giving it a try (i can share with my friends as well).
actual fact: the sauce is tomato flavoured and not spicy at all
2. potato salad
i thought: opps almost everything in the menu are fried / oily, i am not interested in greens so i ordered potato salad (was thinking of the taste from NYDC / Pasta Cafe)
actual fact: the after-taste is smelly - i think it is onion, and the overall rating is, not nice
3. spicy buffalo wings (chef's recommendation)
actually a friend wanted to try it so we ordered... i took 1 and tried (did not finish the skins since it is nothing more than a fried chicken wing's skin)
actual fact: you should be able to guess it, not only it is not spicy, the food does not look like the one in the menu picture
Ok, there are a couple of tasty bites too:
4. fish and chips
the fish is quite tender in the inside and it does not taste fishy (my tolerance of fishy-ness is very low :P)
5. prawns and roasted chicken combo
friends said that the roasted chicken tasted better than the buffalo wings; i tried the prawns and they were quite fresh
Conclusion: i most probably will not come to this cafe again for main courses; most of the chef's recommendations were beef related and the non chef's recommendations were not good enough.
perhaps i may consider if i need a place to sit down and drink some coffee / eat some ice cream
GrudgesHave you heard that, one cannot bear the grudges for too long? I think it is true because having negative thoughts too often will affect your daily moods, emotions and hence the quality of your life.. haha i am not trying to sound like a philosopher (perhaps you did not even think of that! :p)
my point is.. why am i still feeling sore about the "unfair" treatment given?
in chinese, there is a phrase - tong ren bu tong ming (alas my chinese s/w is not set up in pc as yet so i must write in hanyu pinyin which i am not good at, not that my chinese is good). eg even if you are working in the same society / company, you may not be given the same exposure; even if you are doing the same kind of work, your pay may be different
to friends: na, this topic has nothing to do with my job.. the above is just an eg :)
